12 days and 11 nights hike from Putao town to snow capped Madwe mountain and steep slopes in Kachin state from 7th to 18th Dec 2011.
The trip includes walking along and across May Likha river, Nam Yin creek, Ma Khu and Ma Dwe creeks, trekking in the lush and rugged tropical jungle, going up and down steep
hills, hiking and camping in the snow at 3700 to 4000 meters elevation.
Rain in the lower slopes and constant snowing in higher ground plus inadequate food and
gear forced us to turn back before reaching the 4600 meter peak.
