Pi Tha Khon (Ghost mask) festival in Dan Sai district town in Loei province, north-eastern Thailand. The procession of masked peoples, street dances, and other shows usually take place in early July. Under the hot sun peoples with various designs of masks and dresses come out in a procession. There are displays of how the masks and dresses are crafted, singing and dancing, the history of the festival at the site (July 2005 trip to Phi Tha Khon festival).

A typical public bus transport in the towns and villages area in thailand. This bus runs between Kanchanaburi town and Erawan market.

Second class sleeper train
A train attendant tramsforming the seats into sleeping berths in a second class cabin on a Bangkok - Nong Khai train. Most long distance trains in Thailand offer 3 classes of seating: 3rd, 2nd and 1st. Second and first being sleeping berths. First class is a private compartment for two persons.

A VIP public bus in Thailand
A long distance VIP public bus in Thailand. This bus runs at night between Bangkok and Mae Sot - the 8 hours drive. The VIP bus could be a double decker like this with a small western style toilet and refreshment corner (water boiler, instant coffee and tea) in the lower deck.

A temple in Bangkok
A locally famous temple in Bangkok. Wat Ladprao is crowded by mostly local peoples on the important Buddhist days which usually arrive on full moon days. Peoples would buy flowers and incense sticks and walk in a procession round the temple house in a specific direction in prayer. They would also go inside the throne hall of the Buddha images for worship.

Below photos are ancient Khmer temples in lower north-eastern thailand region. These archaeological sites and museums are important pieces of south-east Asian history. The unique design and technique, materials used in the construction and artifacts housed inside the temples or monuments are priceless items of Asian heritage (September 2008 trip).
