As we floated down our bamboo raft on the river, at one point, Thi Lor Lay waterfall emerged from behind the rock cliff in the middle of nowhere in the

They are no just porters but also cooks and trail readers. They find dead wood to build fire, build bamboo rafts and temporary bridges
over the fast flowing creeks if necessary. They can find fish, frogs, and other edible plants. They can craft cups, containers, baskets and means to carry
loads out of naturally available materials (March 2008 trip).
